It does have some disadvantages, it takes up floor space. Having the draws against a wall trades spreading them out for just narrowing the room/bench a little. That said I currently have the Mark II version on my desk (the girlfriend traded it back to me), and at arms length on the "lazy susan" it is very easy to get parts quickly. I have all my resistors and capacitors in it, arranged in decades running vertically.
